July Update
My Hiatus is over...
God’s way is so different than mine.
In my head, gaining clarity took the form of a road map for content. Instead, I got to have a month-long glance at the state of my life. No blinking.
Rather than simply improving my writing or handing me new content plans, He improves me. Uses the skills, the blog, my community, and the work I must do to make me more loving and more trusting in Him rather than my abilities or results.
There’s a lot of inner work to do if I want to abound in love for others and serve Him well.
I’m back now. Living in lessons, mistakes, and trusting God with the next couple of posts. I’m not in a comfortable place, and I don’t think I’m supposed to be. Maybe one day, I will be, but it will take time and battle to get there.
Starting with some changes:
No more Book Reviews.
I love writing reviews, and if days lasted longer than 24 hours, I’d still fail to get them out in the quality I’d like within a month. Not to say I couldn’t just spend 2 months on a review and release them less. I could do that. But two months on a book review is pointless if that’s not where I’m called with my writing.
There will be new bookish content. Shorter bookish content… Okay, possibly shorter bookish content. Just not book reviews. Hopefully, what’s coming will be more fun, and I hope we can all participate in it 😁
My post schedule will be random.
Once a week was an excellent pace and a beautiful commitment. With it, I sought consistency. But being consistent doesn’t have to look like every Wednesday this year. I will focus more on consistent quality, community, and service.
That might look like five posts a week or two a month – I don’t know. It could be anything.
I’m posting Biblical Reflection again.
I’m no teacher, but I love the bible. I want to take that light and shine it all around. So I will. I didn’t even notice until this break that this lost its place here. When I think of why I started this blog in the first place, that is crazy-depressing. But that’s why it was so important to get some time away.
But not everything is changing.
Some things are staying the same:
The Drawing Diaries remains.
It’s still my little hobby, and it’s teaching me a lot about the beauty of commitment and hard work, and I can see God in all our details.
I will still post reading updates and other updates.
The updates will be less frequent, as expected, with the random post announcement.
I hope you’ll all stay with me on this journey wherever it leads.
I love you all, and I hope you have been well.
Let me know what’s been going on in your lives! I know I said I’d be active online, but at some point, I didn’t get online at all. It just sort of happened that way. So I have much to catch up on.

Glad you're back! 😊👋 I'm getting close to finishing writing my second fantasy novel : D I've been at it for like nine months.
funny parallel: i noticed how long it had been since i read through the Bible on my streams… i’m changing that this very month and hope to do more of what God tugs my heart to do going forward!
